Our weekly “dress rehearsal” practices will take place Thursday nights 5-6PM starting next week
The marching band was invited to perform at the Minerva Teacher Convocation Day. We will be meeting at 11:15am in the band room. This will be our first performance wearing the full uniform. Students will be ready to pick up at 12:15

Today your kids received information about pictures next Friday, August 6.
FRIDAY AUGUST 6
2:00 PM Meet in band room to get uniform
2:20 PM Line up for pictures
2:30 PM Senior Group photograph for the program with Senior Athletes
After the group picture, students will travel to Dunlap Photography
3:20 PM Meet in the alley next to Dunlap Photography (arrive in uniform)
3:30 PM Students will be photographed individually for the Lion Posters that are hung in downtown businesses and also for the banners that are hung at the stadium
We will be arriving in staggered groups on Sunday:
2:30pm – Seniors and Juniors
2:45pm – Freshmen and Sophomores

The Boosters will have a table set up near the door, make sure your son or daughter has completed all paperwork before you leave. Also, any medication should be clearly labeled and turned into our volunteer camp nurse. They will help make sure your child is reminded to take their medication throughout the week.
All payments should be turned into the band office. Checks should be made out to “Minerva High School Band”.
We encourage all parents to attend our “Show and Tell” Performance at Camp Ecco on Thursday at 7pm. Your son or daughter can ride home with you from there.

The Minerva High School Band will be performing in a brief ceremony held at East Lawn Cemetery (next to Minerva Elementary School) Monday, May 31st at 10:30am. Dress is the Minerva Band polo and black shorts. Students should meet at the ceremony with their instruments. The band room will be open if students need to pick up their instrument before the event. School transportation will not be provided.
Students interested in trying out to be a 2021 Minerva Marching Band Majorette or Drum Major need to turn in a try out video no later than May 24. E-mail the video or link to Emily Hummel at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Majorettes Need To Demonstrate The Following:
- Spins (preferably 2 spin, but will accept 1 spin)
- Arm rolls and floor rolls
- Illusion (without a toss is acceptable) at least 2 minutes long
- Vertical and Horizontal tricks, along with movement (avoid stationary)
Drum Majors Need To Demonstrate The Following:
- Marching with a metronome at 90bpm and 120bpm (whole body needs to be visible)
- Conduct along with the following recordings:
**Overall showmanship is a strong factor for all categories.
The high school band Spring Concert initially scheduled for Wednesday has been rescheduled for Thursday, April 22 at 7:30pm.
Students should wear clothes they can wear under their uniform and meet in the band room. Doors will be open at 6:45pm.
