Marching Band Away Games
Report time for ALL away football games for the 2014-2015 marching season will be 5:30pm.
2014 Band Show Schedule
The marching band will be meeting at 4:15pm on Saturday, September 13th for the Beaver Local Band Show, and 4:30pm on Saturday, September 27th for the Carrollton Band Show. We hope to return to MHS before 10pm the night of both shows.
Announcements for Marching Band Seniors
Senior profiles for marching band seniors are due to the band office immediately.
Pictures for the senior posters are taking place at Dunlaps after school this Friday. Seniors should take their uniforms with them after school on Friday.
Marching Band Announcements
There will be no marching band practice Friday, August 15th or Monday, August 18th due to Freshman Orientation and a Teacher Work Day. Tuesday night (8/19) marching band members will be traveling to the Stark County Fair to practice for the fair show taking place the following week. Students should meet that night at the band room at 5:45pm dressed in their 2014 theme shirt. We hope to return to the school before 9pm that night.
Weekly “dress rehearsal” practices will take place this year on Thursday nights from 7-8:30pm in the MHS football stadium beginning on August 28th.
Band Camp Meeting Time
The band will be meeting at 3:30pm at Minerva High School on Sunday, August 3rd to leave for band camp at Camp Ecco. This is different from the time originally listed in the marching band handbook. All band fees are due at that time. Total fees are $250 for rookies and $190 for upperclassmen. Checks can be made payable to the “Minerva High School Band”.
HS Jazz Band @ Brick Street
High school jazz band members will be performing in the 2014 Brick Street Art and Jazz Festival from 7pm to 7:45pm. Students should arrive wearing concert black at 6:30pm on High Street behind the performing stage with their instrument and music. Students who may have forgotten to take their instruments or music home after the last performance may pick them up at the high school at 9am Saturday morning.
2014 Marching Band Handbook On-line
You can download a copy of this year’s marching band handbook here. Students interested in participating need to turn in the attached four forms before Thursday, May 29th. All fees are due before we leave for band camp on August 3rd. New members should plan on attending the New Members Orientation, Monday, July 14th at 7pm.
Memorial Day Parade Info
Marching Band members will be meeting Monday, May 26th at 9am at Minerva High School for the community Memorial Day parade. Dress is the Minerva band red polo and black shorts. The parade begins at Vine St. cemetery with the playing of “Taps” and ends at Line St. Cemetery with a short performance and ceremony.
H.S. Jazz Band Gig for Minerva Rotary
On Friday, April 25th the high school jazz band will be meeting at Minerva’s Classic 57 restaurant to perform for the Minerva Rotary Club. Jazz band members should be dropped off at Classic 57 in their jazz uniform at 7:15am with their instrument and music. Students who do not drive to school will be taken to school via school transportation following the event.
