You can sign your student up for 5th Grade Band here

At the beginning of the year, all 5th grade parents and students are invited to an informational meeting about how to rent your own band instrument on Monday, September 8th, 2025 at 7:00pm at Minerva Elementary School. Please enter at Door D.

If you cannot attend the meeting we recommend you contact any of the following music stores for information on how to rent a band instrument:

The first lesson for 5th grade band is called our “Fast Start Night”. It will take place at Minerva Elementary School, Monday, September 22rd, 2025 at 7 pm. Parents are encouraged to attend with their child as we will be addressing how to handle and take care of your new instrument.

All remaining practices will take place during the school day 2:35-3:05pm on the following days:

Flutes (with Mr. Maxey)
Mondays & Wednesdays

Clarinets (with Mrs. Prendergast)
Mondays & Thursdays

Alto Saxophone (with Mrs. Prendergast)
Tuesdays & Thursdays

Trumpets (with Mr. Maxey)
Tuesdays & Thursdays

Trombones (with Mr. Johnson)
Mondays & Wednesdays

Percussion (with Mr. Johnson)
Tuesdays & Thursdays

The book we use for 5th Grade Band was put together by Mr. Maxey and students will receive a print out when we start. If you would like to download a copy in advance you can go to method.band
